Pennsylvania Democratic State Committee members were informed on February 1, 2018, that Vice Chair Penny Gerber was stepping down due to “increasingly fragile” health. Therefore, a week before it is set to hold its Winter 2018 meeting, and while the Legislature, Governor, and State Supreme Court redraw Pennsylvania’s 18 Congressional districts, the State Committee will meet to elect a new chair, whose term will expire in June when the body is set to reorganize at its quadrennial reorganization meeting following the election of State Committee members in the May 15, 2018 Primary Election.
