The Precinct Committee Person (PCP) is the most important grassroots level volunteer in the Democratic party structure. Each precinct can elect 2 precinct committee persons. Cumberland County has 118 precincts.
A Precinct Committee Person is an elected official of the Democratic Party. They actively work with the Democratic Party to win elections at the local, state, and national levels. The job of a Democratic committee person is extremely important because they represent the Democratic party in their neighborhood or precinct. The Precinct Committee Persons’ main job is to communicate with voters throughout the year, work to get Democrats elected, and promote the principles of the Democratic Party.
Every precinct in Cumberland County is permitted to have 2 PCPs and we still have openings across the county for PCP positions. PCPs can be appointed by the CCDC chair after the CCDC reorganization on June 4. These positions are VITAL to getting our Democratic candidates across the finish line in November.
